Our History

Hudson’s Discount Furniture has been in business since 1917 when my grandfather Jones Ednie Hudson opened a general merchandise store in Connelly Springs NC where he also worked for the railroad as a telegraph operator. When my Dad, Jones Ed Hudson(Ed Jr.) returned from service in WWII and finished Davidson College he helped my granddad with his business. In 1952 they bought a building in nearby downtown Hickory, NC to set up a furniture and appliance store. My Mom and Dad shortly thereafter moved to Hickory where we have been since. In 1957 Dad incorporated the business as J.E. Hudson Furniture Inc. We are still family owned and operated by Jones Edney Hudson III.

“Our goal is to sell to our customers as cheap as possible and still stay in business!”
